A BRIEF HISTORY OF ALTRUSA INTERNATIONAL
The first Altrusa club was founded in Nashville, Tennessee
on April 11, 1917. It became the first national organization of
business and professional women with incorporation
(Indiana) as the National Association of Altrusa Clubs on
August 21, 1917.
Since that time Altrusa Clubs have been organized in:
Puerto Rico Bermuda Ireland
Canada England Russia
Ireland Ukraine India
Korea Chile New Zealand
Scotland
